Strakes glassed to hull Overkill maybe, but I have glassed the strakes to the hull. I used pine for the strakes, and decided that being a soft wood they would be easily knocked or chipped and so needed the extra protection of the fibreglass. A bonus is that a lot the bottom of the hull is now divided into 3 easy to fair individual portions.
