Why do we offer free plans and why are they better:

Your free plans are supplied by E-Boat Inc. , a company that specializes in amateur boat building plans and materials.
E-Boat runs several web sites related to amateur boat building, see the links at the top of this page.
The staff of E-Boat includes experienced yacht designers and trained technicians with real experience in amateur and production boat building. We are member of SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) and ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council).

As a company that has sold thousands of new plans and kits, we were dismayed to see public domain plans, normally free, sold on the internet at a high price and decided to offer them here as a free and easy download. We also were troubled by some advertising for plan's CD's stating that those boats were easy to build. This is not correct. You can build from those plans but the boats are more difficult to build than modern ones.
To help you, our files include technical documentation showing how to use materials available today.

Our plans are scanned in high resolution directly from the old magazines in which they were published more than 50 years ago. From the scans, we created easy to use PDF files: you can print them on any printer, view them on your computer, zoom in and out to view details.
They are the same plans that are sold on fancy CD's by other websites on on eBay.

In addition to the free plans, we offer free technical support: see the files listed under the HowTo section.
We show you how to use today's materials to build those boats better than ever. We also link to web sites where you can buy the plywood, resin and fiberglass needed to build your boat.
